I've got a bit of a problem, as do many who upgraded to Intrepid instead
of making a fresh install of it. The default apps to open certain files
have gone all crewy. So, folders were opening with f-spot instead of
nautilus, and PyPar2 was opening all sorts of things. Well, my system
doesn't know what to open shell scripts with right now. I've saved the
script as either alsa-info or alsa-info.sh, and neither is working. The
list of possible apps, as far as nautilus is concerned: Alarm Clock,
PyPar2, OOo Writer or Wine. Even a noob like myself can see that these
will not do it.

So, what will? I will run the script as soon as someone tells me what
app does it. Thanks.
