Ok. I think, sometime in my tiring efforts to get scim XIM to work on my machines, I did im-switch -s default which created a $HOME/.xinput.d/en_US So, rm -rf ~/.xinput.d Reboot. This time, kwin works, SCIM XIM works, and everything is OK. How come ? -- Using scim by default causes kwin no
