Well, the whole point of this bug report is about using these games with
pulseaudio running and being used.
Most suggestions here either talk of disabling pulseaudio or using pure alsa to
run it, each of which works fine .

Hi guys,
Have all of you connected the small wire which is used to connect audio
out from tuner into aux / cd in on the motherboard?
Thats the easy way to get sound from tuner .
There is a way to get sound direct from tuner but i havent found out how
to .
I just ask the devs for 1 small request
same issue with quake 4, upto 30 sec lag a few min into the game.

Just wanted to add, there is a problem using OSS drivers instead of alsa
too in quake 4 .Only thing is, the delay appears after quite some time
of playing the game unlike using alsa where it starts almost
immediately.

This was the case a long time ago. I have no idea what Ubuntu/Debian is
upto. My packages for SCIM/Skim on Pardus shows no need for libgtk.

As suggested by Mithrandir (on IRC), I used the "debian-
installer/framebuffer=false" in the boot options, and the problem doesnt
manifest itself.
When booting up the newly installed OS, the boot splash doesn't appear.
I guess that's the result of not enabling framebuffer.
