I've the same problem about loosing the sound after upgrade.
The workaround worked for me (kill pulseaudio and start alsa).
I hope it will be working after reboot (i'll let you know)

Only happens when trying to print from a windows xp to ubuntu 8.04 with samba
sharing a HP F4180.
The printer works excellent when printing in local (ubuntu).
With this bug, it doesn't print anything from samba.

I've added a 2nd sound card, and the problem continue. Alsa see the 2 cards and
pulseaudio only see 1 card.

The driver seems to work, but has a very low FPS compared with the
nouveau driver.

Same problem with an card reader in a pc. It worked all fine before
upgrade, and stopped working after upgrade.
The reader has an usb output that works fine, so it only affect to SD
card reader. It has other card slots such MS and CF, but I don't have
any card to test it in order to know if only a
Somewhere (I can't find the link) I've read an workaround:
1. Turn off the pc
2. Insert the SD card in the reader
3. Turn on the pc
4. Use it
This works for me, but you can imagine that it isn't a good solution.

Same problem on 10.10. Then updated to 11.04 and the bug still happens.
Affect randomly and keys starts to repeat. No chance to go to terminal
(ctrl+alt+fx). The system became inusable and almost freeze. Mouse works
most of the times, and then allows to do a software reset. If the mouse
doesn't wo

The system works perfect on 10.10. After upgrading to 11.04 the problem
appears. I'm using gnome (not unity), and seems to be related to compiz
(i guess).
