After restarting gdm and pulseaudio, it detects the 2nd card. But it does sometimes, in a random way.
Step by step: 1. Go to console: ctrl+shift+F1 2. Login in the console 3. $ps -A | grep udio 4. ps show 2 pulseaudio processes running. 5. $sudo services gdm stop 6. $sudo killall pulseaudio 7. $sudo services gdm start 8. Session login (gdm login) 9. Volume applet -> Preferences -> Hardware 10. Pulseaudio shows 2 sound cards No pulseaudio log that seems to be interesting, only a 'alsa-util.c: snd_pcm_avail_delay() returned strange values' message that seems to be solved in the next version. Any ideas? ** Attachment added: "* screen capture showing alsa 2 cards and pulseaudio 2 cards" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/682106/+attachment/1779907/+files/audio%20alsa%20pulseaudio%20isse%202.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/682106 Title: [Realtek ALC888] Sound ok, no mic, alsa ok, pulseaudio fail -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
