Ubuntu 8.04 2.6.24-22. Intel 3945 just stopped working with the same

As well as my setup - he had no problems with iwl3945 wifi for months.
No upgrades, nothing. It just stopped working.
Following on my 2 previous posts: both network cards are working again
now (from morning). Again nothing changed/installed. I guess the reason
was in presence of some "unsupported" wirelless network nearby and some

Maybe it is related - keyboard speed settings are reset to defaults
after each system power on. E.g. gnome-keyboard-properties shows
sliders in correct position, but keyboard speed doesn't match them until

Looks like setting a fixed rate on the _router_ fixes the problem for
me. While it is set to 'auto' the connection speed drops to 1mb/s after
some time but since I set it to 36M fixed on my dlink router the speed
remains fast. Setting fixed rate with iwconfig didn't work. Looks like a
rate control

You can use ATI open-source driver, but You should completely remove fglrx
driver.
They have some overlapping files and fglrx driver replaces ati driver files.
So You should just do the followinf things:
1. sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx*
2. sudo apt-get remove --purge xserver-xorg-video-ati

[Quadro NVS 110M/GeForce Go 7300] card on ASUS A6 notebook. CPU info

I found that my bluetooth headphones work good without pulseaudio server, via
ALSA.

3D working good, but I can't enable compiz effect via Preferences -> Appearance
-> Visual Effect
I got: "Desktop effects could not be enabled"
