When clicking the "play", "previous track", or "next track" buttons in
the indicator-sound dropdown I don't get any response from Rhythmbox.
The buttons give visual feedback when they are clicked, but rhythmbox
doesn't respond to them.

by searching ".jpg" if you want to see all the .jpg files. The "*" seems
unnecessary, even though it's usage is very widespread in other
computer-related searches. Am I misunderstanding the situation?

I seem to have a similar issue on a Toshiba Portege R830, except neither
the hardware shortcuts nor the Brighness adjuster in System Settings
change the screen brightness. When using the hardware shortcuts and when
adjusting through "Brightness and Lock" both slider bars register
changes, but no ch
sorry, I can't re-create the problem on my machine. I'm running 13.04b2.
I've attached my alsa-info.sh output if it's helpful.

Whenever I (or some other process) try to remove kernel 5.11, the

Update: Sound works again!
I'm still using Hardy, and just did the following:
1) Upgraded kernel from 2.6.24-19.33-generic to 2.6.24-21-generic
2) Rebooted into Windows to make sure sound hardware was still functioning
3) Re-booted into new Linux kernel
