I could not figure out how to make it work, and ended up finding a fix in
ubuntu forums.
In Pidgin preferences -> sound -> i changed Method: from Automatic to Alsa.
That fixed it in Pidgin.
For Mplayer the problem seems to have disappeared. But i use VLC half the times.

have removed it completely.

On my laptop the installation completes successfully on my desktop in crashes
during "Installing system", but I suspect that its caused by my graphics
adapter being Nvidia.

I was starring at the "ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-6.34-generic
2.6.38-rc7" from the apport report, but i guess that the rc7 are the Ubuntu rc
number.
It all makes better sense now, thanks a lot!.
So if there are ath9k fixes in rc8, we will just sit tight and wait to
see if it so

A couple of time i had Natty crashing and ending in console, instead of
freezing, trying to connect to Wi-Fi network.
The crashing and freezing happens when clicking the connect button after
entering the password to the network.
"lspci -v" returns this information:
Network controller: Atheros C

But when i get a desktop, it freezes up when connecting to my Wi-Fi network.
