Had this problem on and of for quiet some time. This week I for other reasons reinstalled my computer with maverick and could not install any several add'ons because of this error. It is not the first time i have this error. Firefox could not install the file at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/106309/adblock_plus-1.3.3-fn+fx+sm+tb.xpi?src=api because: Download error -228 I have tried setting "network.dns.disableipv6" to "True", and also the cache size in firefoz ia default 50 Mb.
