It looks like that you have overwhelmed the I/O capabilities of your usb
stick, which brings the system in near freezing states.
This happens when you do to much tasks in parallel and it is easy to
archive this on a usb device(have just tested this).
So, I tend to say that your problem is not so

also in the bootsequence of your system(see log).

Induced by your last comment I have give it a new try.
Again a black screen with a cursor. When I wait some arround 10min I
got a login screen.
So, ... there is pure performance, but no crasher or heavy malfunction.
When I think about: This here is not a valid report.
