I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 (upgraded yesterday).
I found a problem using xpad (installed version is 4.0-5ubuntu1).
Usually when I launched xpad, an icon on the notification area appeared.
- Then I clicked on the right mouse butto
I think it's not a nvida-related problem.
I have a ATI Radeon HD4650 and the issue is the same: youtube video are
stuttering even in small size with compiz enabled, with a lot use of cpu, while
without compiz they run smoothly even in fullscreen.
My system: Debian Squeeze, 1 GB RAM, Pentium 4 2.6

The original problem (black screen on tty[1-6]) is not related to nvidia

I have finally solved this problem on my laptop with Ubuntu 7.04.
This bug is not related to acpi-support but to gnome-power-manager.
The problem is that the suspend event and the screen lock are handled by

Manager to use the Screensaver preferences when the computer is

If the menu package is not installed sawfish starts but the middle mouse
menu is not available and is not possible to launch any application.
A possible solution could be something like this:

pkgdata cal
There isn't any configure, I'm invoking pkgdata from the shell. The
"./icu-config" path comes from some pkgdata default. The same commands
works fine with libicu-4.2.1-3 but fails with libicu-4.4.2-2 and later,
so I assume it is a recent libicu bug.

trying to automount the root of a NFS server but it doesn't work:

The file /etc/auto.master contains only this line:
/net/etc/auto.net
The file /etc/auto.net is in the attachment and its output is the
following:
