Just a remark.
I've tried all that I found, and nothing works. So, I hope that this bug will
be solved quickly, and now I'm coming to Ubuntu Hardy with kernel 2.6.24, that
is the best for now!

I have an ACER 5520 and I'm using the amd64 version of Jaunty. I don't
know how to create and ".deb" file to fix the alsa problem, but here was
easy to fix using the "alsa-driver-1.0.20" like "The Mike" have
suggested. I made this:
Step 1:
Download ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/driver/alsa-driver
in the first time, I used "my solution" running the kernel 2.6.28-11.
After an update I found problems again, so I just did the same steps to
solve the problem one time more. May be I am wrong, but I think that "my
solution" just fix the problem of the current running kernel!
