I upgraded from hardy (where everything worked well) to Intrepid. However our
printer started to lock constantly. I then decided to run a fresh install of
intrepid. Now I cannot select the printer driver on the install printer wizard.
My other machines still crash the print
I upgraded to intrepid and I cannot duplex to a Ricoh Aficio 2060 and an
Aficio MPC 3000. It was working well in hardy prior to the upgrade. I
have all the latest updates and foomatic 4. How can I test if it is a
similar bug?

I have four machines all on intrepid now that crash the printer on a random
basis (mostly with spreadsheet and webpages) that worked for months on gutsy
and hardy. For sure we have lost duplexing

Does this bug only effect ICH7/8 sound systems? I have an Dell M1330 and
ABIT IX38 based desktop and the record was faint in both (ICH8 on both)
before i completely removed pulseaudio using synaptic and switched to
ALSA. Now everything is hunky dory; but I would love to see a better

I downloaded setpwc from the repositories and ran

Dell M1330. It does boost the sound to an acceptable level it creates a

I did install g-v-c last night and it was rather buggy, but nice. However until
the recording quality on the pulse mixer matches that of ALSA dmix (I have
noticed lots of distortion and jumps even though I only set it to 120%) then
ALSA is the only way to go. These quality issues are ubuntu wide

I basically just open up totem, then run a Youtube search and the bug occurs.
I have tried switching down to nvidia's last driver also turning off compiz.
I cleared the ~/.gstreamer-0.10, everything works until I play my first
youtube video.
Then the rendering fails again. I attach the only file

Tried the fix. It did improve microphone pickup by 4.8 times on my M1330.
However the pickup was still much worse than by purging pulseaudio and using

Yay finally got a fix for my pulse problems in Intrepid.
The following was from a pulseaudioless M1330 system:
I added the following ppa to my sources:
~$ sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

After th update things have got worse. The down arrow key is mapped to
enter and delete is mapped to printscreen. The other navigation keys so

Intrepid server and intrepid client for me. If I change from the edev
managed keyboard to the generic 101 keyboard the arrow keys work.
However the delete key maps to print screen still.

Same story using an intrepid client and Hardy server. The navigation
keys are restored using the generic 101 keyboard but the delete key
always maps to printscreen. This configuration worked without any fix
prior to the update.

I have tried edev managed -US and 101 Generic US. Both produce the same
result.

Correction:
The generic 101 US works when it is set on both client and server. I had only
tried edev client and Generic 101 on the server. Edev on the server side breaks
the navigation keys. This is still a problem as I also access these machines
using Japanese keyboards (106 keys).

By the navigation keys I mean:
up (mapped to enter), left (nothing), down (nothing), right (nothing)
arrow keys
pageup (nothing), pagedn (nothing), Home (nothing), End (nothing)
Delete (prntscrn), Insert (nothing), prntscrn (nothing)

Its in the new kernel 2.6.27-11.22 but I haven't got pulse installed.

Added Dell as I have a similar problem with my DELL M1330 (Dell Computer Corp.
Wireless 355 Bluetooth); latest kernel (2.6.27-11-generic). Since this update
the machine refuses to hibernate, returning to the locked screen box.

I will test irt further to see if there are any lock ups but printing
speed is much faster now as well.

Both my Desktop (non-DELL, where I use my USB camera's microphone
instead of the internal card and pulse audio) and my laptop (M1330,
where I removed pulse audio cause there it works fine in ALSA) had very
low microphone volume even at max digital.
