Binary package hint: kmplayer
After upgrading to Kubuntu 7.04 (from edgy) some components -- like
mplayer plug-in for opera -- work weird without starting them
explicitly. This crash happened right after the logon.

Similar problem here.
Acer TM 5730G w Karmic desktop, udevadm monitor reports tons of sr0 events. CPU
usage is ~10-20%
It happens after normal boot, and stops after "sudo /etc/init.d/udev restart"
Haven't seen it few days before, however, the latest update for udev was on
2009-nov-03

After doing some research the problem makes me remind of a previous
issue, when the udev had some conflict w optiarc drives, and produced
far too many events: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/379780
Actually when the battery is in the netbook, the monitors of upower and udev
report a tons of
Happens here too using an n455 based netbook (J&W minix m1200) right after
login. The power management keeps bugging me with useless notification in an
infinite loop. After removing the battery indicator the notifications are gone,
but the top still reports high cpu usage caused by upowerd.

I use eclipse (helios 3.6.2, java EE) most of the time, the window is maximized
in a workspace. When i switch to another workspace and back, the keyboard seems
to be not working in eclipse. Not always but many times a day. Everything gets
back to normal again afte
In both karmic and lucid the resolution for me was issuing
sudo hal-disable-polling --device /dev/sr0
but (dunno if it's related) disks burned with this device are mostly unusable.
I haven't checked it since April, and I use the burner in a win box :(
