MS Word myself, but Adobe Photoshop CS3 exhibits similar behaviour.

the script fails because the pidfile-path it parses from /etc/mpd.conf
contains a relative path ~/.mpd/pidfile on my system. as it can't find

what i see here, is that the wrong kernel module is loaded for this
videocard. even after manually installing nvidia-glx-new, this error is

Timo, i can confirm this bug still exists in Hardy. Tested on a Dell XPS
M1330 (Nvidia 8400m gs) with the latest updates.
After enabling the driver (jockey output shows that nvidia-glx-new is
installed) and rebooting, lsmod lists a 4.5mb (legacy?) module being
loaded instead of the 11-12mb nvidia_
i just discovered that removing restricted-modules with aptitude, which
autoremoves nvidia-glx-new too, doesn't throw the libGL.so.1 error. it
is solely given when trying to remove only nvidia-glx-new.
don't know if it's useful information, but wanted to share just in case.

i'm having the exact same problem and output as posted above, the last
updates haven't fixed it for me unfortunately.
this on a dell xps m1330 (nvidia 8400gs) on 64bit, hardy package nor
nvidia binary give errors on installing, but both fail to load X. hardy
package refuses to be uninstalled.

p.s., i tried purging all the restricted modules, created a dummy libGL
to purge nvidia-glx-new and started with a clean slate: same end result.
