This is not a duplicate of Bug 407491. I tried the fixed version from a
PPA mentioned there and this problem still persists. Moreover, I am
using i386, and as I understood from the other bug, it affects only
amd64.
I updated the bug description, because I found out that Fn-F1 now turns

It appears that this is fixed in Karmic.
I just played around with language/locale settings of Ubuntu and
OpenOffice in the Karmin Daily LiveCD and could not trigger this bug
anymore.
Maybe somebody could test if it occurs in an installed Karmic version,

I have the same problem. It seems that if I type 'sudo reboot' on
terminal, the system reboots as it should.
I also noticed that when this soft lockup occurs, some files get
corrupted on my home partition. Firefox bookmarks and settings get
corrupted every time because of this, and sometimes setti
Alt+SysRq+T prints "SysRq: Show State", but I guess that doesn't help
much.

I can confirm that I lose Firefox settings everytime this happens,
sometimes I lose settings of Nautilus, Thunderbird, Liferea, Gaim, etc.
It's not just gconf settings that are lost. The config files don't get
deleted, but somehow they get corrupted. If I open them, they contain

Normal exit from the program makes Foobillard crash, ie. hitting Esc
brings up the menu, selecting Quit closes the program but apparently not
cleanly, as a pop-up comes telling that Foobillard crashed.

Sorry for so many entries, but I forgot to add in the initial report
that this doesn't happen everytime. Just so that it won't be too easy to
fix, it's impossible to predict when it happens. :)

CD copy fails every time i try to copy a cd with this combo drive, error
is: "Unable to eject media" after copying the cd to an image.
Program should ask to manually replace the cd if this kind of error
happens?

Computer used: Acer Power M6 (Linpus Linux preinstalled)
Distro's used: Linpus Linux 9.2 (has K3b preinstalled) and Ubuntu Linux
6.06.1 64-bit AMD with all auto-patches and K3b installed right after
install and patches.
CD i tried to copy: ubuntu-6.06.1-desktop-amd64.iso successfully

Actually, there is something wrong with either texlive-base-bin, or
I can confirm here on AMD64. Will look into it shortly, thanks for the
