I used a Ubuntu Server 8.04_alpha6 and did an external install on a 2.5'' SATA
HDD.
Installed the HDD in a Soekris 5501-70 (http://www.soekris.com/net5501.htm) and

Up until yesterday everything worked fine on 9.10a5 (updated). With mountall
installed on my Lenovo T400s my system hangs on boot.
The last thing I see is kernel USB device enumeration. Then everything stands
still.
I don't use lvm or dm-crypt

I use synergy daily for work and start it with gnome session automatically.
I'm gonna try and disable synergy to test further.
Is there a possability to invoke a kill command somewhere when shutdown or
reboot commands are issued so synergy would not "lock" and crash.

I did some more testing. My conclusion is once I inhibit the system from
trying (I do not mount crypted disks at boottime I mount crypted disks
upon GDM/shell login) to mount crypted disk at boot time everything
works out.

Situation:
pam_mount uses cryptsetup to mount partition at logintime (no boottime action
needed)
before mountall:
cryptsetup installed, system boots fine, partition is decrypted upon login
with mountall:
crypsetup/mountall hangs upon boot,
Reboot renders grub unusable thus system not bootable anymore.
Using ubuntu 9.10a4 resuce mode from alternate cd I manually removed
/etc/grub.d/30_os-prober and reconfigured grub-pc without problems.
System is up again.

Wiped my upped 9.10a4 installation and installed with final release image.
Everything works fine, no more boot issues with manually configured lukfs

Happens to me too on HP Zbook 15 with (Nvidia/Intel) only Nvidia active.
Disabled intel card in bios.
Workaround:
Add "nogpumanager" to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grub and
execute update-grub to disable gpu-manger.

Having the same issue here on Lenovo T420s with Xubuntu 14.10.
After closing the lid or sleep upon resume the lock screen is displayed as
intended.
After having entered the password the screen blanks and stays that way.
Binding xrandr --auto to a shortcut works but is an ugly workaround.

I crypted a partition that get's mounted on login using pam_mount. After
suspending my laptop I think pam_mount triggers a segfault on resume from
suspend.

Other than add the patch and compile manually, there's no way around
