Still present in the nvidia-graphics-drivers-440 package, sigh.
To reproduce, it's still as simple as "Start playing a video with VLC in
user #1, switch to user #2 for a couple of seconds, switch back to user
#2 to see a black screen in VLC and hundreds of megabytes of error
messages in the logs".

Title:
Invisible cursor after resume from suspend
I would like to provide some more details about how this problem
manifests on my laptop.
1. This problem only seems to occur when the laptop was put to sleep by closing
the lid for a while. If the computer is woken up immediately after it goes to
sleep, the problem does not occur. It also does
Public bug reported:
The global menu bar and tray icons also stop performing as expected when
this bug occurs.

As I mentioned in a previous comment, I was able to eliminate the
problem on my computer by removing light-locker and replacing it with
gnome-screensaver. It is possible that light-locker triggers when the
computer wakes from resume whether locking is enabled or not.

I tried the new version from the PPA and it still has the problem.
@Mike: I suggested gnome-screensaver, not xscreensaver. Although
xscreensaver works, gnome-screensaver is nicer.

Disabling screen locking seems to have fixed it. As an interesting
note, I first disabled screen locking while the courser was invisible.
I was then no longer able to get it back by putting the computer to
sleep.

I have the same problem on an Aquaris E5 running Ubuntu 15.04 OTA-12.
Is there a config file somewhere that has become corrupted? If you let
me know where the files are I could have a look and see if I can edit
them accordingly and report back.

Not entirely sure how a `/usr/X11R6/bin/xauth` has shown up in an ubuntu
14.04 package (when I `apt-get source -b torque-client` everything
builds with `/usr/bin/xauth` as the default).
Though this still seems like a bug to me, there are ways to configure
your way around the misconfigured build:
For some reason I had a similar problem but when I switched my
antialiasing from grayscale to rgba (through unity-tweak-tool) it was
fixed. Downside is I have a low-res monitor so text looks slightly
colored.

I had the exact same issue when I upgraded to 4.4.0-32 from 4.4.0-31.
Not even a distro upgrade, just a regular software update that required
a restart. Thanks for the solution. Now can a mod come and "un-expire"
this since this is a problem on the latest kernel?

Whenever I exit full screen in mpv (and presumably other applications

interact with, and need to switch to another TTY to restart Unity or

Seems as though this has already been fixed in newer version
