I will download the patch when I get home to my laptop. I just wanted
to add that I'm getting notifications for direct messages. Although
they do appear twice in succession. Everything else behaves exactly as
reported in the bug. If everyone else is also able to see notifications
for direct mess
At first I thought it shouldn't be a related bug for the same reason you
stated. But it did happen the same day of "twitpocalypse"...it had never
happened before...so I thought it was related somehow. But weird bug
aside I just got home and it's no longer sending double notifications
for directs.
I was just going to post the same thing as part of the 100 paper cuts.
It's to learn now that I can use the esc key whenever I mess up the
username but I've been using Ubuntu for almost 4 years now and I didn't
know this.
Maybe it should be made more obvious as naoli said or at least the

Tsvi, I can also confirm it is strictly a ubufox bug as John said. I
had just installed Jaunty so my Firefox didn't have any other extension
or theme when the bug started after the update to 3.09

Alexander, I just did a fresh install of Jaunty. After adding the
Ubuntu restricted extras (with firefox open) I started getting this
same problem. The "your browser has been updated and needs to be
restarted" dialog appears indefinitely. I have ubufox 0.7 and Firefox

I disabled ubufox 0.7 and the problem stoppedwhy is that? (if this

where I am...)

same thing happens to me, and I tried on two different computers.
Although it seems hardware related (as in lack of specs) I think it
shouldn't happen. I have a laptop with basically the same specs of a two
year old macbook (dual processor/1gig RAM) and the mac has smooth
background transitions. I
I followed the first set of instruction on this page
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/JauntyJackalope/ReleaseNotes#Other%20known%20issues
and it fixed the problem. Just add Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
to the Device section of your xorg.conf Now everything runs super
smooth, just like it should.
On my side Gwibber stopped working after replacing line 103 with that.
It won't even open. I get this message on the terminal

enum when in fact it is of type 'GFlags'

Hi
I also have a Dell 1557 with 64-bit karmic 9.10 installed (it just
arrived today and I just finished installing Ubuntu) but in addition to
the volume key bug I'm also not able to hear any sound from my computer.
Is this related to this bug or is it whole different problem? I'm
guessing it's the
Ok I got the sound to work so don't mind me in regards to that (I found
the fix here http://www.rschulz.eu/2009/11/dell-studio-1557-core-i7
