If iptables doesn't come configured to save/restore firewall rules by
default, the package should at least include an example script to guide
the user in how to set this up.
I'm attaching the script I use: it should be installed as

When nagios starts up, this causes multiple access problems
To fix the problem
sudo chgrp www-data /
I have this problem also, (on edgy - 2.6.17-10-generic)
"sudo pmi action suspend"
works perfectly, repeatedly.

is this 100% repeatable? for me, sometimes suspend works, sometimes not.
This is /var/log/messages from a successful suspend
