I had gparted open, I inserted a kingston 4gb drive, and then hit ctrl -
r in gparted and it instantly crashed. I tried launching it from a
terminal, but it does not launch when the usb is connected. Once the
drive is removed, it launches again.
This still seems to be a problem in lucid. It doesn't always happen, and
when it does, unplugging the camera and replugging it back in seems to
fix it, but sometimes it will go back to being too dark after a reset. I
tried the c program, but I don't seem to know how to compile it? cc or

I had this problem with lucid and had to put radeon.modeset=0 into grub
to boot. Later, due to lucid breaking after an update (PS disabling
ctrl-alt-backspace in lucid is a bad idea, and even with the
radeon.modeset=0, ctrl-alt-f1 showed vertical bars, so I couldn't get to

When updating the firefox through the repository causes the problem to
reoccur, with no change to tabmixplus, I would think that it would be
the ubuntu firefox addon that is the problem. Not mention that it breaks
OTHER addons as well. Or are you going to say that it is all of the

Yes, I did it again and it happened. After the program is closed there
is no hard drive activity and the system stays unresponsive for at least
5 minutes.

When playing a video using xbmc (the system was previously playing
videos fine), the screen went blank. The sound was still playing,
though. Most keypresses were doing nothing, so I hit ctrl-alt-f1, and
then from the command line there, I killed xbmc. When I went back to
ctlr-
