I used the Live CD of 8.10 and everything seemed to work fine but when I
installed to the hard drive i got the same thing. At the login screen,

OK, I've come back to this and now my Skypephone works with kernel
2.6.31-15. Once I've plugged in my Skypephone what I have to do is click
on the speaker icon on the top panel and select the Philips VOIP
Skypephone as the sound device for Input and Output and also turn up the
