i could test it with 8.04 too, but i need ext4 support as my storage are
4x1.5TB disks in a Raid5 with ext4
so i think that's not an option for me, i was looking arround for some
other options like using FreeNAS (FreeBSD based) or OpenFiler (linux
based) but no ext4 support there.

I had the Problem with an usb-drive, as it did not show up in installer,
i first thought it was a problem with the fact, that it was a usb drive
itself.
i would suggest, to show the mounted partition and when you finally want
to format/install/resize/... you get a warni

i just installed ubuntu on my first generation eeepc (800x480)
what about just adding scrollbars?
as you can't move windows above the screen to reach the bottom buttons this

maybe it's very easy to fix
the network-manager just has to announce the offline mode (vie D-Bus), which
triggers pidgin to disconnect
when the network-manager finally established the new network connection (via
vpn), he switches back to online mode and pidgin does the same
firefox already does

today i tried a quadro-head setup, i have
1x Geforce 8600 GTS
1x Geforce 5200 (PCI)
1x Screen 1680x1050
3x 1280x1024
first thing i noticed was that the 180 nvidia driver did not see the geforce
5200, so i switched to the 173
nvidia-settings found both cards and all four screens
i did some testing
with two screens attached to the primary card and xinerama turned on, it
crashes X when I try to switch to the terminal (alt+ctrl+f1), if i
finaly make it to the terminal it only shows me a blinking hardware
cursor on the second screen.
when I start X with the "-retro" option f

but how does someone fix that bug in ubuntu? next i'm going to compare
