To: Nosco-post #23 Kudos to you-this worked for me. I just installed the latest stable kernel: 2.6.35 using method described by 'Master Kernel Thread' No errors-everything seemed to work except VLC. After reinstalling VLC I received 'status 5' message; bootup continuing after brief pause.
