I have Acer Aspire 5515 with ATI Technologies Inc RS690M [Radeon X1200 Series] video on Ubuntu 9.04. The Backlight keys are working as they should with gnome-power-manager running. Could point to a difference between the video adapters. Hope this helps. -- notebook backlight adjustments bug ht

I had a similar issue that occurred after going from 8.04 to 8.10 and continued into 9.04. The only way i fixed it was with a complete wipe and clean install. I tried everything on ubuntuforums.org. After a clean install the sound worked flawlessly. I also use Intel HDA driver. -- audio not w

I own this hardware and was able to get it working also with the 3572 driver dated 12/2009 on various kernels up to 2.6.32-* but after moving to 2.6.35 kernels it will not compile because of errors that I posted on in a forum post ( http://ubuntu- ky.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9823310 ). P
