i upgraded to the latest kernel (-20.29) today to find that whatever
conflict i was having has been resolved and i no longer have an issue.

I apologize about that, I wiped my drive and reinstalled since then with much
the same effect, but i reduced the boot time to 5 minutes by commenting out
"recordfail" in the 00_HEADER of grub.cfg. i will also reprofile ureadahead and
attach the 3 logs from that. here is a link to the output of "
I agree, very (x6) odd indeed! however, i was unsure as to it being
related to ureadahead (filed a bug for it as a suggestion from someone)
and am now fairly sure that ureadahead isn't the problem. the first boot
with ureadahead disabled took about 20 minutes again and the same with
the reprofiling

as an added note, it was suggested to me to file this as a ureadahead
bug, but i'm unsure if that really is the case. when i ran through the
process to disable ureadahead, force a reprofile, and boot standard for
the bootcharts (see keybuk's "all about ureadahead" sticky), i
discovered that during
i have been unsuccessful in reproducing the 5 minute boot since trying
the ureadahead reprofiling. i think i may uncomment the "recordfail"
timeout if it's not doing any good.

i don't believe it's a hardware issue either, as i was also running
other releases of ubuntu prior to the beta. i have also cleaned out my
box, blown out dust, unplugged/replugged in cables.
