Have upgraded my fathers machine from 7.04 to 7.10 using dist-upgrade.
All updates have been applied.
Issue is quite serious as it seems to prevent sometimes a network connection
from being established, does not acquire ip number through DHCP then. Also
regularly the ip address is being dropped.
This sounds very familiar: my laptop (MSI S260 = intel 915GM chipset) also
freezes when going into screensaver mode. I have the same driver (intel
experimental).
Now with screensaver off and tunrining off the fearture of switching monitor
off after idling (thus my monitor being permanently turne

I installed the fix on my VPCY11S1E Ubuntu Desktop 10.04 Gnome.
Fn F5 and F6 seem to give me a brightness bar now at the right top of
the screen but is doesn't change the brightness although the bar slides.

Ever since I installed Ubuntu 17.10 bete on my Lenovo Thinkpad S540,
there was a message on boot and reboot "Configuration changed - restart"
and the laptop would reboot. I was still able to boot from USB though
and even updated the BIOS from USB. But that didn't solve the problem.

Ok, after spending a few hours greping and searching and comparing with
the Vodafone connect software, I got it to work.

I did a reinstall today from the Ubuntu Intrepid Beta and UMTS works
fine, it however breaks again after updating the system to current using
apt-get.

The problem still not has been satisfactorily resolved!! Several very practical
functions I used to access via 'Styles and formatting' seem to have vanished.
By example the connection I could make between the headings and the numbering
system - another tab in the 'Styles and formatting" menu in
