I just tested with my T21 and recent 9.04 and updates of today and I was
able to hibernate-to-ram and -to-disk without problems and waking up
normally. This is possible with both Ubuntu Kernel and upstream 2.6.30.
Although I would say that the initial problem is resolved now, there

I think it isn't in the alsamixer GUI. Open terminal and type alsamixer.
With right arrow move to end and there it was for me. Unmute with 'm'
and lower volume with arrow up.

Daniel, your workaround brings the sound back. However it does not solve
the problem, as all apps having access to the sound as firefox or gnome-
mixer-applet are killed, too. This is very annoying. Isn't this a
duplicate of Bug #11149?

I tried both FN-F4 and Suspend through gnome menu. What Ubuntu version
did succeed? Do you still have a T2x laptop to test that? I am using
Ubuntu since 8.04 and never brought that to work.

I am sorry, this was very confusing. Following this bug report

Volume which was muted. It's the last one in alsamixer.
So i have now sound on T21 with 9.04. But why was this muted during update
process?

I can confirm this bug still exists on IBM T21. Though its older
hardware ubuntu runs fine, but suspend is impossible. Exactly same issue
as mentioned on bug open. I tested with 8.10 and 9.04 beta. If you need

As with version 1.6.0+git20100414-0ubuntu1 i do not expierence the
gvfsd-(sftp/ftp) problems I mentioned before.
I can mount, unmount and remount a share with stored password as often as I
want and it is always successful.

great you care. I have already been pointed to the debugging steps, but there
is a problem.
The process gvfsd-sftp is called independently and talked via dbus. It's called
like "gvfsd-sftp --spawner :1.7 /org/gtk/gvfs/exec_spaw/5". I tried to debug
the gvfsd-sftp but this doesn
the patch does not bring any change to the gvfsd-sftp/ftp issue. Still full cpu
usage if the password is stored in seahorse.
Additionally same problem as in comment #56.

I was able to patch the kernel in order to load the correct driver.
I then had to execute xinput set-mode "MosArt, Inc. RMTP-MA957" ABSOLUTE to be
able to use the touchpad.
Now it works accurately, but is not clicking. From evtest, I would expect

some news in that story. The touchpad identifies via usb as 062a:7100 Creative
Labs, but in fact it's rather MosArt.
I have never compiled a kernel myself but tonight I tried. It is strange that
drivers/hid/hid-ids.h already lists 062a as USB_VENDOR_ID_TURBOX but I left
that as is. I added

I am still investigating why the click function does not work.
I have compared Xorgs logs with the usbhid driver and the hid-mosart
driver. This points out that,
with generic, the touchscreen is recognized a 'tablet' (absolute axes, etc.)
with mosart, the touchscreen is recognized as 'touchpad'.
