Public bug reported:

Upgraded to 9.04 Beta and have no sound anymore.
Hardware is ok, tested with 8.04 and had sound without problems but on 9.04 it
doesn't work. (Means I can't listen to music/video or hear ubuntu startup
jingle).
The only sound i can hear is the beep on shutdown via gnome fast-user-switch
and myself through microphone when i rise the volume in alsamixer. Checked
alsamixer to unmute all relevant channels.
