Sound works on Win7 with laptop speakers, sound works on Ubuntu 10.10
with headphones, but not with laptop speakers. It used to work during a
fresh install, but after a few restarts it stopped playing sound through
the speakers.

Sorry but to be honest I get annoyed at not having sound through my speakers
so I ended up reformatting it and sound works again. It did work from a
live-cd as well (Live-CD being a USB stick).
Some things I did notice while tampering with it was that it didn't matter
what Connector I changed it to
After the give or take 5th reboot, my laptop has decided to do the same
problem again. While it is late and I'll have to check the AlsaInfo for you
tomorrow, I just felt it would be good to inform you that the bug does still
seem to be there
