It does not seem to affect only the e1000 driver in virtual box.
I changed the network drivers to AMD III and the VM booted, but now it crashes
in those too.
Unsure if that is because of the latest kernel update.

same issue here. Have not been able to pinpoint it. I have it on 1 machine, on
a few others there is not issue.
I tried reinstalling the ubuntu-desktop package, network-manager and
network-manager-gnome with no results.
This is on a fully updated 14.04.

I got no detected external monitors at all.
I think I ran the intel installer 1.06 on the 3.13 so that may not be the issue.
Another issue I have now is not having my kernel source, because I thought it

I have seen this issue on various intel integrated video chips.
The issue seemed to be caused by the KVM switch at first, but it did not return
to a proper resolution when it was removed from it.

Fortunately when I use alt+F2 and then type metacity --replace , it is fixed.
I have this every login and also have window border issues with a qt app in

Can you be more specific in your steps?
I also borked unity.
I fixed the driver by doing apt-get remove nvidia-310 and apt-get install
nvidia-current, which installs nvidia-304.
I then see the nvidia logo, but no unity.
Can you explain how you reset unity and reinstall compiz?

after above steps, install dconf (i had it already)
apt-get install dconf
then
dconf reset -f /org/compiz/
and
unity --reset-icons
the last action made unity appear for me.
After a reboot all was fine.
I also had similar issues on 12.10, seems unity is a bit sensit
I am also on 13.04 beta. See my previous post for what worked for me.
The key issue for me was in unity.
When I removed the nvidia drivers the nouveau driver loaded without issue.

same issue confirmed here on ubuntu 12.10 with latest updates when in camera
mode
I am using a Galaxy Note 2.
In MTP mode i get time outs, mtp-detect says :
ubuntu@ubuntu-Latitude-D630:~$ mtp-detect
libmtp
there are some solutions:

I used the latter and then put a # in front of the blacklist ssd and b43 in:
broadcom-sta-common.conf
The first seems to work according to other people.
Ubuntu, please FIX this!

arista does not want to queue anything, it complains about missing codecs.
It searches but does not find some h264 stuff en 2 other codecs.

Thank you for the issue.
The lib is libindicator3 .
My 32bit 11.10 was unusuble, so I reinstalled the 64 bit version.
It has the same issue.
It seems to depend on libindicator3.
libindicator3-6 is installed.
When I install libindicator3 unity2d and all kinds of notifications are removed.

When the ppa is added according to the description and I do :
sudo apt-get install cairo-dock cairo-dock-plug-ins
it does install fine.
