Still getting this issue on my ASUS F3Ja with Ubuntu 8.10
LID ACPI envents are triggered and processed by acpid (I've added test line to
lid.sh script) but gnome-power-statistics doesn't show any LID events on the
graph.
Also and I'm think this is linked to I'm getting 'Screen lock on AC
unplug'

Seems it is pulseaudio problem. Gnome volume show no audio hardware installed
right after boot but alsamixer works properly. If I'm routing audio directly to
ALSA I hear sound.

This is not a solution: doesn't matter what very option is selected, lid
close action simply not intercepted by gnome-power-manager. This also
affects Karmic alfa 6 BTW.

Recently I've got this USB CDMA modem and found it is not detected by
linux at all. Googling got me to some ideas and I made a patch to
option.ko driver to get this modem to work. Patch is attached to bug. It
is trivial and I hope it will come to current LTS kernel soon.
