Run into the same/similar issue.
A desktop application launcher wouldn't work. The correct icon didn't show and
when I clicked on it, I got the same ... trusted warning with only a cancel
option.
The .desktop file was executable, so that wasn't the issue.

I installed the latest Ubuntu, 10.10.
I then logged in with the Finnish keyboard and the Finnish language set in the
gdm login screen.
I then launched gnome-terminal and gedit.
Both work correctly after changing IM to XIM from the menu.
I then set the gtk IM to XIM with
expo
I ran some further tests, after a report that Redhat doesn't have this
problem.
I logged in with KDE WM, Finnish locale and Finnish keyboard.
I then used the new Finnish keyboard to enter AltGr + §. This generates 'đ',
like it should.
It seems that KDE works, as I originally posted.

Fabio, why change the bug to invalid? It is totally valid. The dead-stroke key
is a new addition to X11, and some problems were to be expected. Saying the
problem is not there will not fix KDE and Gnome applications which now can't
handle it.
Have you actually tried it? You MUST use fi_FI.UTF-8
Glad to hear it. Well, hopefully this one will get some more attention now.
The dead_stroke is a nice feature, so it's a shame it doesn't work in gnome and
KDE.

Removing the module form the running kernel solved the issue, but imo

I started with a new intrepid kubuntu install, did an apt-get
update/upgrade, then changed my xorg.conf file to do dual head and got
the BAR 0 issue. I then installed Andy's ppa mga driver and rebooted

xorg packages along with the "unofficial" 4.4.4 driver. Unfortunately,

I'm also experiencing the crash while accessing the Calendar tab in
Evolution. It shows the calendar for half a second and then it dies.
If I start start Evolution from the terminal right after the crash, it
seems to start right where it left off (before the crash) and loads into
the Calendar. But
I'm not sure how the term "kill switch" is being used here, but I have
an Acer Aspire 2003WLMI notebook and it has the same issue. When I
pressed external button to deactivate the internal wireless adapter, it
also disables my Belkin Wireless Pre-N card in Network Manager.

Confirming on Dell Vostro 1000: Fn+up/down 'steals' keyboard input.
The "fix" for me was to use the magic SysRq key to reset the keyboard
from a virtual terminal - alt+prtscr+r - I don't know if it's the VT
switching or the magic keycombo that fixes it, but this is clearly an
input layer bug.

When I use Nvidia X-Server Settings and get everything correctly

I have hardy installed on my Eee 901, with the array.org eeepc kernel.

I believe this causes a problem when /var is on / (not a separate partition),
which is mounted read-only.
I worked around this by setting VERBOSE=yes in /etc/default/rcS, which causes a
different path through checkroot.sh.
Then my root fsck at boot was not blocked.

On a fresh install of Intrepid Beta, wireless on my EeePC 900 was not
working. Adding "blacklist ath_pci" to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist

Go to System | Preferences | Appearance

Yes; in my case, nmbd no longer shuts down when the network is
disconnected. The only way I could get it to shut down was to specify
"bind interfaces only = true" and "interfaces = lo". Using "bind
interfaces only = true" and "interfaces = ath0", where ath0 is connected
to the network but disabled
Using Mike's patch from 2008-04-29 (comment #56), normal usage doesn't
yield any lag. However, mashing keys in a terminal and moving the mouse
wildly triggers a noticeable delay.

I too have the same issue in Europe with the b43 driver in Intrepid.
Should be b43 driver issue be filed as a separate bug?

As a workaround, add an entry in /etc/hosts for
fpdownload.macromedia.com to a webserver you control. Then, download
install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz to a directory under your webserver
root to satisfy the package's wget command:

Just installed Xubuntu Jaunty Alpha 6 on my Eee 901. From the first
bootup, the internal speakers just output loud static noise.
The lineout sliders have no effect, but the iSpeaker does kill all the
sound output when it's unchecked.

sound mixer icon brings up the XFCE Mixer with no controls enabled. I
