I'm not sure how the term "kill switch" is being used here, but I have an Acer Aspire 2003WLMI notebook and it has the same issue. When I pressed external button to deactivate the internal wireless adapter, it also disables my Belkin Wireless Pre-N card in Network Manager. Extremely frustrating!
One note: a common suggestion to this problem on other forums has been: "Just disable the internal wireless card in the BIOS!" Unfortunately, on my specific model of notebook, even when using the latest version of the BIOS, there is no way to disable the internal wireless in the BIOS. We definitely need a software solution for disabling different network devices, one-by-one, in Ubuntu. -- Network Manager disables all wireless networks if kill switch is on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/286164 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
