The Super key cannot be used by default by any application as not all
keyboards have this key. Window managers have been using Alt at least
longer than Inkscape has existed (perhaps GIMP as well) so they should
have known this would cause problems. Currently there is no way to fix
this bug though.
It depends on what the fix is. If the fix is to change the themes that
would apply. A global setting for theme thickness or an invisible border
would require changes in compiz to match.

Sorry, the patch I submitted was for scrolling on the workspace
switcher, not dragging. Either way, the upstream bug makes it clear that
is a problem with libwnck.

Has anyone tried using the version of compiz that used to work with the
version of everything else that doesn't work? Basically intrepid's

The fade plugin is responsible for smoothly showing changes to opacity,
brightness, and saturation. I'm not sure if disabling it would be a good
idea. There was work being done to make fade and animation not interfere
with each other, I wonder what ever happened to that.

The only way to fix this is to disable unredirect_fullscreen_windows but
last time I checked doing so results in a large performance penalty on
everything except nvidia cards. Perhaps that is not the case anymore now

The problem is applications use NoDisplay to put extra items in for MIME
detection in nautilus. This is what NoDisplay is meant for. However some
applications use NoDisplay to mean "this shouldn't be shown by default
but users should be able to enable it in alacarte". Older versions of
alacarte als

this until the user enables it" or "don't display this at all"

Deleting them marks them as Hidden which makes nautilus, the menus, and
gnome-session completely ignore them.

will mess up any apps you've installed via WINE.

This bug is back in jaunty for me with ndiswrapper and the wl modules.
If I unload ssb and load one of those then load ssb again everything
works fine.
