The problem is applications use NoDisplay to put extra items in for MIME
detection in nautilus. This is what NoDisplay is meant for. However some
applications use NoDisplay to mean "this shouldn't be shown by default
but users should be able to enable it in alacarte". Older versions of
alacarte also used NoDisplay to hide items from the menu.

If alacarte is changed to completely hide things that are NoDisplay you
wouldn't be able to enable things like "Configuration Editor" and then
we'd get a bug report for that.

There is no good fix here.
