The workaround is 'noapic' parameter to kernel cmdline.
Even that it works using this workaround it's a bug/regression which needs a

1) I would like someone to do system updates, but not necessarily do

Suspend without closing the lid wakes up fine.
But if I suspend the laptop with lid closed, it does not wake up display.
There is some activity when I open the lid, but computer backs to sleep. It

I'm not sure if it's the same bug but I've just installed today's
(2009-10-05) Kubuntu Karmic cdimage on i865G hardware and since boot
from LiveCD til now (installed and upgraded system on hard drive) I'm
getting proper display on intel driver but Xorg eats ~100% CPU and even
text typing in Konsole
How is the CPU usage? I'm getting almost 100% CPU usage by Xorg (both on
LiveCD and installed system) on i865G and even window moving or text
typing is as sluggish as waiting few seconds for display refresh.

gdebi is not using the translations in launchpad at all. The UI remains
in English. This should be a high priority issue. Since the template
looks to be up-to-date, then something might be wrong with the
application itself

Hmm, there is no /var/log/partman, I haven't moved to the partitioning
stage.
Anyway, the logs I attached are from the exact moment the screenshot was
taken. The crash will happen if I click Forward here, but that hasn't
been recorded in the logs obviously. If you want the logs from the crash
