Actually, Jockey did install the fglrx-updates and fglrx-amdcccle-
updates packages, and they are working after reboot, it's just that the
Jockey GUI still doesn't know about them and reports they're not
installed.

Last comment, taking this route results in Catalyst Control Center and
Catalyst Control Center administrative not having an icon in the Ubuntu
launcher and neither of them will load. I'm pulling it all out and going

EVO/USB3 motherboard.

I tried 'manual selection' on my most recent attempt to tackle this,
which launched an interface for aptitude.
It looked like just a shell installation was queued for installation
there.
The evidence might suggest the Ubuntu package list isn't being loaded
into the installer, but I'm not sure how

I've an AMD64 HP Pavilion laptop with a builtin NVidia module.
I'm running up-to-date Precise LTS beta 2 and was unable to use this
machine until today when I dropped back to Unity 2D as well.
PS for anyone that had autologin activated and are thus blocked from
picking Unity2D because you're auto
I saw this when first picking a folder in EasyTag - picking ~/Music
resulted in a crash, whereas picking '~/Music/Unknown Album ' directly
brought up the three files in that directory without any mishap, so
looks like EasyTag can't cope with a larger directory structure with a
few mixed files like
I swapped it for a different brand at the store. Thanks anyways

- a wired ethernet connection was available this time around
- I used 'Startup Disk Creator' from Natty to create the boot media rather than

This affects an ACER1410 and a HP Pavilion notebook in Precise Beta 1.
Both were default LUKS alternate ISO installs.
For both, comment 24 did the trick (in addition to an NVIDIA jockey
install for the HP to clear up other bootup visual artifacting)
