I think I found the reason why gvfs on Hardy failed to connect to a
Samba or Windows share:
1/ On the server side, if the security mode in sbm.conf is set to "user" then
Hardy client can connect using gvfs just fine.
2/ If on the server side, the security mode is "share" then H

Per your request, I ran evolution 2.22.1 on a brand new account on the same
computer. Still the same problem. As soon as I attached an JPEG image, the
message never get deliver with the same error.
On another hand, Evolution 2.12.1 deliver the same e-mail just fine. I
have Gusty with Evo

1/ Any JPEG would have the problem, large or small. No JPEG attachment, no
problem.
2/ My connection is DSL with 378Kbps upstream.

[SOLVED] at least for me.
Coincidentally, I used the System->Admin->Login Window to change the background
image. Now, gdm no longer crash on first log in.
By the way, where is the configuration file for this gdm login (if any).

Whenever I run firefox on a terminal server client, via Xnest or Xypher,
it crashed with Segmentation Fault core dumped. But there is no
corefile!
It run fine on the main console with GDM.

1/ It used to work fine on 7.10
2/ I still can use smbmount command to mount the Windows shares and then browse
the folders/files using nautilus. Works fine.
3/ Not all Windows share give me the same problem. I have shares served by a
Windows 2003 server and it works but shar
I have found the same behavior on my laptop after upgraded to 9.10. The
USB drive is Maxtor OneTouch as well. Other external USB drive seem to
be OK.

So far so good. I have tested on one single laptop:
1/ I had an old folder on the Web but it did not updated on my laptop.
So I deleted that from the web page and started from scratch.
2/ So I copied one folder into the "~/Ubuntu One" folder and I saw it
synced up with the web page.

May be I misunderstood the proper usage of Ubuntu One. As soon as I
