I have the same problem with a Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Extreme Music
(PCI) under 64-Bit.
Under Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty the X-Fi workes fine with the unstable driver
from "twai". Also the surround sound wokres with the old version of

"default-sample-format" value in "daemon.conf".

However I have a solution/workaround for that by using Open Sound System rather
than ALSA
Make sure that OSS is installed on jaunty:

We recognized a steady CPU load of about 2% when starting our QT4 tray
application. To eliminate any issues in our application, we created a

So it seems to be a QT4 problem somehow in connection to the gnome-
panel, because this does not happen with the same QT4 application and

Installed this kernel, but unfortunately is the same. I tried also with
different network for eth0 and wlan0. I can establish SSL to the eth0
IP, but not to wlan0.

I've checked multiple kernels and multiple methods to set up the network. I
don't know what is going on, but I suspect that it might not be the kernel
itself, but the network interfaces conflict.
Can you share with me in details how to set up the wireless "wlan0" to connect
on a clean image
I've got a bit confused about the behavior of the system so I restarted
the process to check what's happening. Here the steps I performed:
1. Install clean image on SD card.
2. Block internet access of the RPI, so no updates to be installed on first
boot.
3. Reboot
4. Remove 50-cloud-init.yaml f
Tried this, but I cannot find anything that means something to me with
respect to the problem.
The log is attached.
Row 1: Here the RPI starts with ethernet cable attached and wlan0
configured. Both adapters seem to take their IPs. -> I can estasblish
SSH to both.

I was able to reproduce it with a fresh system by doing the following steps:
- Create a VM
- Install ubuntu-20.04.1-live-server-amd64.iso
-> all standard + openssh
-> let the security updates run
- install apache2
- install libapache2-mod-python
- restart
** Changed in: libapache2-mod-python (Ubuntu)

mod_python statically linked to wrong python 2.7 version
Just had exactly that problem on a 18.04 installation at the end.
It was a EFI installation and grub wanted to remove "grub-pc".
As described above, the prerm script tried to db_get the variable
grub-pc/chainload_from_menu.lst.
grub-pc version is the latest from bionic-update (2.04-1ubu
DisplayLink offers a patch for the XServer:

Applying the patch on my Dell XPS running Ubuntu 20.04.1 seems to fix
the problem.

This still doesn't solve it for me on a fresh minimal 18.04 install in

the cpu clock speed to always be more than 3GHz on all (!) cores. namely
the xorg (>100%), systemd-journald (>50%) and rsyslogd(>30%) were
