I started pan up today for first time since gutsy version started crashing (and
I was too apathetic to report it).
Still crashing. This is the message in the terminal. When started from a menu,
nothing happened and apport did not start up.
Hope this added info helps.

Can you explain why emacs-snapshot-nox is _not_ a dependency? I can
assure you that w3m-el-snapshot works fine without ordinary emacs as a
dependency.

Ok I've got it working again, but I had to uninstall everything and
reinstall it all again and then reboot. Should I really have had to do a
reboot to get it working? It seems like the libraries were not being
found.

In the absence of any other complaint like mine I would put this bug to
rest. My harddrive was dying. Some sort of quick growing cancer. I put
her to rest last night. A new install on fresh harddrives show no
problems. So I think this was due to bad sectors not software bugs.

I've just had some problems with running rhythmbox that are related to
pango-graphite. Rhythmbox keeps crashing. I sent some bug reports about
rhythmbox but when analysis was done, it was related to this package. I
just uninstalled it and it appears that rhythmbox is behaving as normal.
