Verifying that the new release does now work for WPA1/TKIP hidden
networks. I'll test others as I run across them.
For those who cannot get it to work, it may be worth noting that the fix did
NOT work for me until I
1) went into the plasmoid's Manage Connections screen, on the Wireless tab, and
New version of plasma-widget-network-manager is

Please check to see if the same problems still exist. This update has
fixed numerous annoyances for me. If you have existing wireless

I can verify this behavior. Sometimes kpackagekit simply fails to
complete the install of a metapackage; other times it silently crashes.
Apt-get has no problems installing the requested packages.
Here's the output from an attempt to install kubuntu-restricted extras. The
steps were as follows:
Update: I can now report that this behavior is present for other
packages, so this bug may apply to Adept instead of any particular
package. The behavior occurs even on a fresh and completely updated
installation.

I get exactly the same behavior, but it is completely unpredictable
which packages will cause it. Some do; some don't; the existence or
nonexistence of a "changes" description appears to have no effect.
Today I had five available updates; three of them caused the crash,
while two could be clicked

I also have this problem with a PS/2 keyboard running on a VIA chipset
motherboard.
The keyboard does not work:
* when booting into "Recovery mode" (runlevel 1).

Have now been running kernel 2.6.33-020633-generic for over 24 hours
with no read-only events. Even better, after the system locks up due to
various i855 xorg problems, on reboot the machine is experiencing no
data loss at all. Seems clear the data loss issue has been resolved
upstream.

filesystem goes read-only, I've found it helpful to use either a USB key
or SD Card, which can be mounted even when the boot filesystem has gone
read-only. In most cases when testing for this problem, I even mount an
SD Card as

to remount writeable, especially since it may introduce additional
corruption that will make this bug more difficult to troubleshoot.

Using mainline kernel 2.6.32.8 results in the same sort of corruption,
but it appears to be somewhat less pronounced. Unfortunately, the
corruption also blew up the kernel itself, so the system could no longer
boot. Since further blind experimentation seems pointless, I've
reinstalled Kubuntu 9.0
Bug 438379 does look quite similar to my problem, but I should note that
I've never suspended nor resumed before experiencing fs corruption, so
suspend/resume issues may or may not be relevant.

I'm having the same problem here, using Kubuntu 9.04 with VirtualBox
2.1.4-dfsg-1ubuntu3.
Kubuntu 9.10 running under VirtualBox frequently reports filesystem
errors when starting. Running e2fsck doesn't really seem to find
anything wrong, but then the virtual machine will restart properly.

Debian Squeeze kernel 2.6.32-3-686 and kernel 2.6.32-trunk-686 do not
exhibit any corruption at all. This leads me to believe the problem is
a configuration problem, and not a problem inherent to the 2.6.32 kernel
itself.

Kernel 2.6.32-18-generic no longer has spontaneous corruption at all.
When the system hard locks due to other problems (an xserver lockup, for
instance), the system still requires running e2fsck from a CD, and can
still experience significant corruption. This is distinctly different
from 2.6.33, w
Still running Debian Squeeze with kernel 2.6.32-3-686, and still no
corruption. The Debian configuration appears to be using CONFIG_IDE
instead of CONFIG_ATA, since the hard drive is reported as hda rather
than sda.
I've found an upstream bug report / flame war that may or may not
provide any use

In relation to another bug, I've been testing using Debian Squeeze with
kernel 2.6.32-3-686, and can report that this b43-legacy error also
appears in the Debian kernel.
