I decided to wait. Evolution 2.24.2 came out for me today and I
upgraded everywhere.
Anecdotally I think I can say that the delay between typing Ctrl-A and
the messages in the folder being highlighted is less than it was, but
there is still a noticeable delay. The delay though is fairly clearly

every letter is deemed to be a misspelled word. It is very, very
annoying. Very few Ubuntu users will see this as a quirk, they will see
it as a disaster. Can I suggest this should be seen as a critical
blocking bug to be fixed

laptop, it only has a wired conenction r8169 driver, and that my

I am using IMAP to a Courier SSL server on Ubuntu (Intrepid). The delay
in the Ctrl-A action seems independent of client device filestore, I get
it using my laptop with the .evolution directory on a local disc or with
my workstation with the .
I wonder if a way forward here is for there to be a Boost Development
team created and a Boost project created. Then there can be a PPA for
Boost that can have the latest and greatest version available as soon as
it is ready.

Debian is a wee bit behind -- as at 2009-04-27 19:20+01:00 Squeeze and
Sid have 1.6.0 whilst Groovy is now at 1.6.2.
Karmic currently reports 1.5.7 and so definitely needs updating as 1.5.x
is at 1.5.8, but actually the whole 1.5.x series is now deprecated.
1.6.x is the standard Groovy now.

Olive-GTK provides a menu item for creating a new directory in a branch,
but does not provide a menu entry for creating a new file. There should
be a menu item for create new file which has a dialog to get the name

problem). I just tried the Hardy Live CD and it booted fine -- except

I switched from the i810 to intel driver in the xorg.conf and it appears
to make no difference at all: the machine boots but without showing the
splash screen, X.org starts fine and works in the right graphics mode.
So the only problem appears to be in the Live CD boot. I am not sure

Unfortunately, there is a fundamental problem: there is no such menu
item in the BIOS menus :-(

The title of this bug report "Vaio PCG-SRX51P/B has two graphics
problems" does rather give the game away that this is not a Dell machine
;-)
The BIOS on this SRX51P/B is very limited in options, there is nothing I
can see about video memory buffers. As it is a laptop, this doesn't
surprise me as

I have some ooimpress presentations stored in odp format. These were
generated with OOo2.2 or OOo2.3 if I remember correctly. The
presentations use Stone Sans throughout -- note though that Gnome states
the font is called ITC Stone Sans whilst OOo lists it as Stone Sans.

OK, problem solved. What the error was actually saying was "Cannot find
/usr/local/lib/libz.so" -- the Sunfreeware Python package doesn't appear
to be able to accept /usr/lib/libz.so, it has to have
/usr/local/lib/libz.so. Loading up the SMCzlib package cured that
problem, but that was not all.
