In that we know what the problem was and that removing the faulty device allowed things to work normally then yes the report can be closed.
In that the kernel was incapable of dealing sensibly with faulty hardware then no the bug report stands. In that I no longer have equipment that allows me to test even should the bug get fixed then yes the bug report can be closed. In that someone somewhere is almost certainly going to be hit by this again unless the problem is dealt with then perhaps the bug report should stand. Yes the hardware was faulty but then so was the Linux kernel and the bug hasn't been fixed, just worked around. So all in all I am indecisive! -- Neither Gutsy nor Feisty Live CD boot on P4P800 based system https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/159577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
