In that we know what the problem was and that removing the faulty device
allowed things to work normally then yes the report can be closed.

In that the kernel was incapable of dealing sensibly with faulty
hardware then no the bug report stands.

In that I no longer have equipment that allows me to test even should
the bug get fixed then yes the bug report can be closed.

In that someone somewhere is almost certainly going to be hit by this
again unless the problem is dealt with then perhaps the bug report
should stand.

Yes the hardware was faulty but then so was the Linux kernel and the bug
hasn't been fixed, just worked around.

So all in all I am indecisive!
