So, I added acpi_backlight=vendor string to the kernel cmdline and backlight
controls DO work now contrary to what gets printed to dmesg:

1. Open System Settings
2. Select Network Proxy.
3. Set Method to None
If you do use proxy, please make sure that the relevant HTTP and HTTPS
proxy fields are filled properly.
I guess libsoup-gnome should handle this condition properly i.e. don't
use proxy if the hostname

the 12.04 release, and measures are being explored to cope with it. It

This is not technically a bug in Ubuntu One but more an infrastructure issue.
At the moment due to high demand for 12.04 images and packages the api slaves
(syncdaemon servers) are configured to use less bandwidth. This is being worked
on.
