We found out that the problem is the size of the thumbnail quality set
in the android layer (originally as 100).

(cmdline/API) to know, from the location-service itself, when the GPS
hardware is active or not.
Basically the only reliable way to know that is by checking
/system/bin/logcat, and retrieving the GPS HAL l
