I'm using Ubuntu 8.10. The version of gedit is 2.24.2.
When using the keyboard short cut to open a file, ctrl+o, the window for
selecting a file to open is cramped and has to be resized before it can
actually be used. When selecting 'file->open...'
Installing resolveconf fixed it for me, now DNS resolv works after PPTP
disconnects.

I just installed the 12.04 beta 2 x64 on a PC that already has Win7 x64
EFI booting. When booting, the Grub menu is not show, as is standard, if
there are no other OS'es to select. Manually running an update-grub does
not detect Windows.
The /boot/efi/EFI/ folder containts 'Boot', 'Microsoft', and

I have solved this temporarily.
The GRUB menu can be unhidden by commenting out the two lines regarding
GRUB_HIDDEN in /etc/defaults/grub and running update-grub as root.
Next, the entry for windows can be manually added by appending the following
lines to /etc/grub.d/40_custom:
menuentry "Windo
Regarding #7 > Then you ofcourse need to run 'update-grub' after editing
the 40_custom file for this change to take effect.

I have had the same problem since 11.10. The problem occures on two
seperate machines (now) running 12.04 and both of them have a screen
size of 2560x1440.
I would think that the above metioned iMac runs at a screen size
similar.
I've posted a quick fix on Ask Ubuntu on how to get around the prob
I'm experiencing the problem on two separate machines. The bug has been
there on and off since Natty.

Problem does not occure when running "Classic Desktop with no effects".
So I guess it has something todo with the Compiz.

I have narrowed it down to when Focus-Follows-Mouse is enabled.
Also I have compiled they newest branch 2.6, the problem with code
regions are gone, but resizing panels still shows the same problem. But
than you have to deal with all the other bugs 2.6 beta has :-)
