I support re-opening the bug.
The Web Interface does NOT display any message stating administrating is

This is still broken in Hardy Heron.
We recently upgraded to Hardy Heron (=8.04 LTS), and now vncserver dies,
logging "Couldn't open RGB_DB '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb'". This is NOT
about font path in vnc4sever (as the title states), but the symptom was
reported by Roman Wartel in Bug #34218, which

Thanks for getting back to me.
Oddly, synaptic on hardy still shows vnc and vnc4 packages. So
Till, yes -- using synaptic, I upgraded ghostscript from
8.61.dfsg.1-1ubuntu3 to 8.63.dfsg.1-0ubuntu6.
I'm using Hardy Heron, a.k.a. Ubuntu 8.04 LTS. I think ghostscript should
simply work without fixing.
I consider this a packaging bug of the LTS release.

I got this (on a Brother MFC 8840DN, but same issue): invalid PS file

This happened with Gimp 2.4.5 (2.4.5-1ubuntu2). On your suggestion I
upgraded to the latest, 2.6.1-1ubuntu3. Same error.

This is still broken in Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS / GNU bash, version 4.4.20(1)-release

Title:
"respawn" does not start job again
To manage
Experiments lead me to assume that the stanza
respawn limit 5 100
ONLY limits the respawning rate (to 5 starts in 100s); it does NOT
instruct init to babysit the job. What purpose that could serve is
unclear to me, but apparently another "respawn" is necessary:
respawn
respawn limit 5
This behavior is actually documented in the (currently not maintained)
Upstart wiki:
"A separate respawn stanza must be present to actually set the respawn
flag, as of version 0.3.9."
