I got this (on a Brother MFC 8840DN, but same issue): invalid PS file from gimp causes error limitcheck in command array; operand 72947.
This happened with Gimp 2.4.5 (2.4.5-1ubuntu2). On your suggestion I upgraded to the latest, 2.6.1-1ubuntu3.
