I have problem that is similar to one reported by Pablo Di Noto in
comments to issue #38648 (and I have configuration that is similar to
his).
My reproduction steps:
1. Put system in suspend state (seems to be ok)
2. Touch power button (I can not wake system via keyboard or

I had same problem with Wine on 9.04 32-bit desktop install with Nvidia
drivers (installation upgraded from 8.10 32-bit desktop). I managed to
solve it by changing identifier of "video" user group from 1001 to 44 to
match group given in /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia-kernel-nkc.conf

I tried to start jackd from command line and it turns out that jackd is
still running for a while after audacity is started but continuously
reports xruns and then gets killed: "jackd watchdog: timeout - killing
jackd".
Console output
$ jackd --verbose --realtime -d alsa >jack-output.txt

I have similar hardware and same problem.
If "System/Preferences/Power management/When button is pressed" is set
to "Ask me" then the said dialog is blinking after resume. If I set this
preference to "hibernate" then system hibernates immediately right after
it resumed so I can not do anything.

Without bluetooth adapter this problem does not occur enumore. So I presume
this is really a but with bluetooth adapter.

I have similar issue on Lenovo B50-70 with AMD/Intel graphics, Xubuntu.
Switching to text console and back to Ctrl+Alt+F7 does restore cursor.
I have also noted that
1. Disabling discrete AMD card in BIOS this issue still persists.
2. After waking from lock/suspend there is cursor in unlock scree
I have this problem since upgrade from 15.10 to 16.04
I have disabled discrete video card in bios and now use Intel HD
graphics only. With this configuration suspend works.

Additional observations:
1. Custom shortcuts are preserved.
2. Seems that settings are stored in ~/.config/dconf/user and it's content is
changed when I change shortcut preferences. This file stays the same until I
login again.
As an attempt for workaround I changed permissions of
~/.config/dcon
I noticed also that if at boot time I activate grub boot menu and then choose
3.5.0.27.43 (which is default) then Ubuntu boots normally.
If however I try to start without opening Grub menu then boot process stalls
with black screen.

If I open GRUB menu before booting sometimes kernel boots successfully

I tried linux-

boots every time.
(Leaving aside that my wireless mouse does not work, text consoles
(ctrl-alt-f*) show blank screen, screen resolution is skewed, grub
config changed during it's installation) version

I do not have Nvidia in the notebook. My config is Intel i7 with HD
3000 + Radeon so bumblebee is not a solution in my case.

This issue lingering for quite a while so I would propose to solve it by
replacing keyring unlocking dialog with one that shadows whole screen
leaving only dialog at top. Such dialog is already used elsewhere.

I do understand that this bisection looks for particular issue but it is

Yes the problem is reproducible every time (with Unity, XFCE and
Cinnamon desktops). In addition to comment #5, the problem apparent to
user is also that the dialog can be minimized and while it sits
secretly in dash or some taskbar the whole desktop looks not functioning
- windows do not react to
A kind of workaround is to disable autologin so password is always
entered at login time and the dialog does not come up. But on my home
computer I would prefer to login without entering password.

Installation created new partition by resizing ntfs. After file copying started
it aborted with error message.
Version 11.04 32 bit desktop.
I expected that installation into new partition completed successfully.
Logs syslog and partman are included.

installation the disk that contains new ext4 partition is not visible
