I have similar hardware and same problem. If "System/Preferences/Power management/When button is pressed" is set to "Ask me" then the said dialog is blinking after resume. If I set this preference to "hibernate" then system hibernates immediately right after it resumed so I can not do anything.
It seems that power button press event is somehow saved in hibernated image and is processed only after system is restored.
